REGIONAL SENIOR UNDERWRITER PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY

Job Purpose/Role

Based in Milan and reporting directly to the Head of Professional
Indemnity of Italy and Regional Practice Group Leader of the M
editerranean Region, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Professional Indemnity business in
Italy, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco,
Spain and Portugal, with a special focus on the countries where there is
the opportunity to grow PI business in a profitable way. With strong
ties to the Regional Practice Group Leader for Professional Indemnity as
well as the Regional Head of Financial Lines, you will also support the
PI global and regional strategy to ensure the successful achievement of
the AGC&S targets. You will be the main contact person for brokers and
clients working with the Financial Lines team within the Med Region,
jointly with Market Management.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Professional Indmenity Practice Group Leader to lead and
manage the local PI underwriting team: check referral process and
ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and
rating guidelines
- Support the Professional Indmenity Practice Group Leader to prepare
and manage any budget and/or targets within the plan, looking for new
opportunity into the market
- Steer and control the Professional Indmenity portfolio at Regional
level in conjunction with the Regional Practice Group Leader to drive
the achievement of financial targets
- Drive underwriting planning process and monitor adherence to plan,
taking corrective action as necessary (writing new business or/and
renewing the existing business)
- Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end
to end underwriting life cycle
- Work closely with Market Management, Claims and other product lines to
achieve key marketing strategies, including cross- selling
- Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and
adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including
Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance
rules, and local regulatory framework
- Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or
modified products
- Maintain executive contacts and accompany the Underwriting of all core
or strategic accounts
- Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing
business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
- Coordinate with local market management to drive successful execution
of strategic plan (meet broker/agents/clients)
- Communicate local business strategy externally
- Represent AGCS internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to
the market
- Drive involvement of Market Management, Risk Consulting and Claims in
Underwriting process


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

- Master's degree in Law or Business
- At least 5 years' experience underwriting profitable Financial Lines
business (PI mainly) for corporate clients
- Particular preference if also experienced in PI Tech / Cyber business
- Proven successful leadership skills
- Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy
administration life cycle
- Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis
skills
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and
robust wordings
- Experience in driving underwriting projects
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work in an international matrix organisation
- Fluent Italian and English
- Preferably also able to speak French
